This policy explains what data GetReadyForNEET collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it the way we write everything: in plain words. The short version: we collect what we need to run your preparation, we do not sell your data, and we never publish student identities or results.
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: your phone number, and your name and email if you create an account.
- Academic profile: your class or dropper status, target exam year, and the city you tell us.
- Study activity: questions attempted, test scores, time spent, doubts asked, and progress data. This powers your analytics, rank bands and study plan.
- Device basics: device type, app or browser version, and network quality, used to keep the platform fast on your phone.
How we use it
- To run the product: tests, analytics, study plans, doubt solving and progress reports.
- To contact you about your preparation: counselling calls, WhatsApp updates you opted into, and service messages.
- To improve the platform: aggregated, de-identified usage patterns guide what we build next.
- Parents of minors can receive the weekly progress report for their child's account.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
- We never publish student names, photos, ranks, scores or testimonials with identities, even with good results, even if asked. It is a platform rule.
- We do not send marketing through your contacts or post anything on your behalf.
Who we share data with
We use a small set of service providers to run the platform: cloud hosting, SMS and WhatsApp delivery, payment processing and analytics. Each receives only what it needs to do its job and is bound by contract to protect it. If law enforcement requires data under Indian law, we comply after verifying the request.
Your choices
- Opt out of promotional calls and WhatsApp messages any time by telling the counsellor or replying STOP.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us on any channel.
- Deleting your account removes your personal details from active systems within 30 days; anonymous aggregate statistics may remain.
Data security and retention
Data is stored on servers located in India, encrypted in transit and at rest, with access limited to staff who need it for their role. We retain account data while your account is active and for up to 12 months after, unless you ask for earlier deletion.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app and on WhatsApp before the change takes effect, not after.
