NEET percentile calculator: marks in, percentile out.

Enter your expected score out of 720 and see the percentile it has mapped to in recent years, plus whether it clears the qualifying bar for your category.

Percentile, explained

What a NEET percentile actually means.

Your percentile is the share of candidates you scored better than. The 90th percentile means you beat 90 percent of everyone who appeared. It is not your percentage of marks: a 480 out of 720 is 66 percent of the marks but has recently sat in the mid 80s percentile, because most of the 22 lakh plus candidates score far lower.

Percentile is also how NEET decides who qualifies. NTA does not fix qualifying marks; it fixes qualifying percentiles, so the marks they map to move with every paper:

CategoryQualifying percentile
General / EWS50th percentile
General PwD45th percentile
OBC, SC, ST (incl. PwD)40th percentile

Remember: qualifying only opens the counselling door. The score a seat actually needs is far higher; see the cut-off guide and the rank predictor.

About the percentile calculator

Is percentile the same as percentage in NEET?

No. Percentage is your marks divided by 720. Percentile is your position against everyone who appeared. A 50 percent score is a strong percentile, while the 50th percentile is a modest score, usually around 140 to 165 marks.

What percentile do I need to qualify NEET?

The 50th percentile for general and EWS, the 45th for general PwD, and the 40th for OBC, SC and ST candidates. Qualifying makes you eligible for counselling; it does not by itself get a seat.

How is this estimate calculated?

From publicly released NTA score distributions of recent years. Your marks map to an estimated rank, and the percentile follows from that rank against the typical candidate count. It is a planning band, not a promise.

What percentile do I need for a government MBBS seat?

In recent years, general category government seats have mostly needed roughly the 97th percentile or higher, which has meant around 600 plus marks. The cut-off guide breaks this down by score band.
